A Deluxe Class Hotel Located In The Heart Of The Capital Of Gastronomy...
At the heart of the capital of gastronomy, the 62 rooms of Cour Des Loges Hotel offer you the exceptional association between contemporary comfort.
and the typical charm of authentic XIVth, XVIth and XVIIth century residences. Here the apartments, suites, duplex and other triplex symbolise all by themselves the magical spirit of a unique place in Europe.
Many celebrities have visited this hotel including Henry Kissinger, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Celine Dion, and Yehudi Menuhin. The hotel has been featured in such prestigious magazines as Architectural Digest, and Conde Traveler. The hotel features it's own restaurant Les Loges noted for it's stunning interior of light and shade.
Visitors must take the pedestrianized rue du Boeuf to get to the hotel – unless they arrive by taxi. Automated glass doors swing open as guests take a small corridor that opens out into the Renaissance courtyard, topped by a glass roof. Smart-suited concierge, modern art and hand-painted frescoes set the tone as guests are ushered to reception, next to one of the building’s three fairy-tale towers. There are lifts, but the joy of this hotel, reopened by owners Monsieur and Madame Sibuet in 2000, is its labyrinthine feel. |

PROPERTY AMENITIES
* The refined cuisine offered each day by the Chef and his team
at Cour des Loges Restaurant skillfully combines tradition and imaginative flair. The carefully selected menu composed of all natural products
appeals to the most demanding customers. Preferring the exquisite flavor
of genuinely good food to showy and overly sophisticated dishes,
Cour des Loges is a must for the discerning palate. If you want to be sure the seminar or event you organize will be an enjoyable and memorable event, choose Cour des Loges.
* The Thermes spa is a very private space with small swimming pool, blue, green, white and gold mosaics, and shallow pools in which to rest and relax, rather than swim. Two reclining wicker chairs offer more relaxation, along with a sauna (space for two). Massages are available on request.
* The local and visiting business community can pick from seven conference rooms. All have natural light. The largest, the Jeu de Paume, has space for 150 people, overlooks a small interior courtyard and has 15th-century columns. The Salon Agapes is one of the most charming meeting spaces with a huge old fireplace that crackles in the winter and walls decorated with frescoes by Ervé Thibault. In addition to the seven conference rooms, each of the four storeys is fitted with round table and chairs for small business discussions (for around eight). |

"Unique and Spectacular"
I just got back from my third stay at this hotel. It is one of my favorite hotels in the world.
The location is excellent, the lobby is spectacular, and the concierge staff might be the best I have ever encountered. Unfortunately, they used to have an excellent restaurant, but the chef left recently to open his own place.
My only caution is that the rooms are of a very unique style, and they vary in size and shape greatly. Personally I love the rooms, but I could see them not appealing to everybody.
This is a unique, spectacular hotel. If you are into design and architecture, I highly recommend this property.

"Excellent choice for a romantic break"
I can imagine that this hotel would not suit everybody, but it is perfect for a romantic weekend. If you want a big modern business hotel, a hotel with parking or a hotel with panoramic views, go elsewhere. But if you are looking for something with lots of character and a hotel with exceptional staff, then you will not be disappointed.
The hotel is located on a pedestrian street in the old part of town, and is a conversion of a renaissance building. There is enough of interest in the surrounding streets (including good restaurants) to keep you busy for a few days, and the centre of Lyon is only a few minutes walk away, as is the hill of Fouviere.
I brought my fiancee here for a surprise weekend break, and we both loved the renaissance architecture, including the stunning entrance courtyard (which also doubles as the restaurant). Earlier reviewers are right in saying that the rooms are dark and a bit uncoventional (ours overlooked the internal courtyard), but we found it to be very comfortable and cosy. Our only dining experience was Sunday brunch. Although this is expensive, the quality of the food will soon make you forget about the cost (but maybe not your waistline!).
In summary, what makes this hotel exceptional is the quality of the staff. They are very professional, efficient, stylish and courteous. Of the 150+ hotels I have stayed in, the staff here are amongst the very best I've seen.
