Metropole Hotel is ideally located on the banks of the Saone River, five minutes from the Bellecour square. The hotel is the perfect place to combined business, sport and wellness.
Lyon is almost as good a place for nightlife and entertainment as it is for eating, with a good range of clubs, cinema, opera, jazz, classical music concerts and theatre.
The best places to wander if you are looking for a bar are rue Mercière and rue de la Monnaie and, most particularly, the streets of Vieux-Lyon, especially the southern part around the place Bertras, next to the église St-Georges. And make a point of crossing the river by the passerelles; the whole district looks magnificent at night.

"Metropole Hotel is an excellent facility"
Metropole Hotel is an excellent facility, with the use of the spa making it an exceptional value. The location was quiet but it is only a short bus ride (ten minutes) into the center city & Vieux Lyon. The desk personnel were always very helpful and the bar and restaurant help were attentive. |

Metropole Hotel is a perfect hotel! And with a very good price. The spa is excellent. Perfect for honeymoon! It is a little far from the center, but the hotel offers everything you may need. |

"A Great Spa Getaway"
This hotel is a great "getaway" hotel at the edge of Lyon. It has the best health club I have seen in Europe: indoor 25m pool, workout gym, first-class spa, tennis and squash courts, outdoor 50m pool with heated whirpool maze. The service and food are excellent (although breakfast buffet is a bit pricy et 23E). Rooms are large, though a little dated. My only caveat is that the hotel is somewhat distant from the city center, which is difficult to reach if you don't have a car. |
