The Park and Suites Part-Dieu Hotel is a modern hotel with 140 suites, and is situated 300 metres from the TGV train station. The residential property in a 1930's style is fully renovated and decorated on the Orient Express theme.
Suites are decorated in a contemporary style with parquet flooring, dark wood and soft furnishings in bright colours. All are air-conditioned and offer kitchenette areas, minibars, high-speed Internet connections, direct-dial phones and satellite television.
Directly adjacent to the train station is the shopping centre, just 300 metres from the hotel. Lyon's historical old town is 1.5 kilometres away, as are the opera house and famous Credit Lyonnais Tower. Lyon Saint- Exupery Airport is 30 kilometres from the hotel at an approximate driving time of 30 minutes. |

LOCATION
Park & Suites Part Dieu Hotel is located in the heart of the business area of Lyon and close to the TGV railway station.
Reached by one of the three passerelles (footbridges) crossing the Saône from Terreaux and the Presqu'île, Vieux Lyon is made up of the three villages of St-Jean, St-Georges and St-Paul at the base of the hill overlooking the Presqu'île.
What makes a visit worthwhile, however, is the magnificent view of the city; you can distinguish the different quarters and see how they have grown and been shaped by the Saône and Rhône over the centuries. The Basilique is also accessible direct from the Vieux-Lyon funicular station: if you arrive by this route, it's worth walking down along the montée St-Barthélemy footpath, which winds back to Vieux Lyon through the hanging gardens below the church.

"Really excellent hotel"
This hotel is excellent for families and/or groups. Its a cross between a hotel and an apartment suite in my opinion, with lots of room, excellent staff and excellent service (breakfast only at weekends, Chef must be off then so no dinner). Its not falling over itself with staff, but they're always available and very helpful. The chef's cooking is excellent. The rooms have a fridge, microwave, dishwasher and an electric hob! Room service was good particularly for breakfast. It has a spa and a gym. You have to pay for their underground parking though. Its right in the city centre and a 10min walk from the main train station. There are no scenic views, but its well worth it. That's my new stop in lyon. |
